Some like prints and some don’t. In my opinion, you need to turn heads every time you’re on the beach whether it’s in print or solid swimwear. But in this post I want to focus on basic, minimalist swimwear. Because these type of bikinis can’t be missed in your swim wardrobe nowadays.
Australia is a major player in the swimwear market and many brands that come from here focus on minimalist swimwear. They know perfectly how to enhance the feminine body with high-quality but simplistic swimwear. Here are my 8 favorite brands that do exactly that.
Cantik swimwear was launched in 2013 and what I love about this brand is their strong believes in acting mindfully and responsibly with ethical consciousness at the heart. Their aim is to create comfortable swimwear that you will wear with confidence. With 5 different bikini sets (AUD$160) in several colors and 3 types of one pieces (AUD$145-160) their collection is quite small, but they are adding number of styles every season.
Founded in 2012 by Rosie and Christine, Fella is brand that focusses on simplistic and timeless pieces. I think every woman can find her favorite minimalist swimwear in this collection because they offer a lot of different styles including amazing supportive tops. Fella is your brand of choice for bikinis with a twist like super soft textured fabric or simple but cute detailing. Also available at Revolve.
Myra swim is probably my favorite minimalist swimwear brand from Australia. Reason for this is their cheeky cuts (very sexy!) and seamless finish. And besides that, the quality is amazing! With 80’s/90’s influences this is a super popular brand among celebrities and they try to cater to all body types. Tops and bottoms are sold separately so you can mix and match as you like!
Established in 2014 in the pursuit for the perfect swimsuit. Modern yet classic. Sustainability is in their core and all suits are made from high-quality recycled Italian ECONYL® fibres. In fact, to reduce the environmental impact of their production process they introduced a ‘made-to-order’ model, yet they are still able to dispatch your order within 2-5 days thanks to their in-house team. Palm Swimwear is sold through boutiques worldwide and a couple of major online retailers such as Bloomingdales and Shopbop.
Founded by Australian swimwear model Renee Somerfield, designed for the girls with salt in their hair and sand between their toes. Each piece is designed to accentuate the female body and highlight every curve. Their suits are really sexy and you will definitely get all the attention when you wear these! I actually own multiple Somerfield pieces and the quality is good and the colors are amazing. The sizing runs a little small so I suggest to go one size up when you’re in doubt. Another good thing to know is that Somerfield Swim only sells in their own online webshop, but they do ship worldwide.
White Fox Swim
White Fox Swim is a very popular brand among celebrities and has a massive following on social media. Their swimwear range, part of the White Fox Boutique, is trendy and cute with minimalistic designs. And it is probably the brand with the lowest prices in this list. For $60 you already have a bikini set so if you are looking for a new bikini for your girls getaway last minute, this is your brand!
Launched in early 2016 from a personal desire to create a basic and timeless swimwear range with flattering bikinis. Despite the minimalist design with no padding or underwire, the tops are designed to give your chest a subtle push-up. Sizes range from XS to L but please know that their sizes run small. Their bikinis are well priced around $100 for a set and they offer FREE worldwide express shipping.
Minimal coverage? Check. Cheeky bottoms? Check. Lahana Swim is the perfect brand to make a statement with on the beach! This is the ultimate tanning bikini with a light weight triangle top and super thin bottom straps. The bikinis are only available in three sizes (small, medium, large) but I love the fact that you can have a Lahana bikini for just under a $100.
That’s it! These are my 8 favorite minimalist swimwear brands from Australia. Tell me, what is your go-to brand when it comes to basic, minimalist swimwear? Let me know in the comments below! I’m dying to know!
