How are you?? It’s been a while since I last posted and that’s because I just came back from a 3-week long vacation in Curacao! I was planning on keeping my blog schedule on track but the internet connection over there was so bad that I often couldn’t even go to my own site, let alone post an article three times a week :( But hey, that made me enjoy my holiday to the fullest!
Now I’m back and full of new energy and great ideas for the blog! I’ve made a couple of small changes to the menu and introduced more categories so hopefully it’s more clear for all of you, my lovely readers. For instance, the category of this post (Brand of the month) is something that I started in this new year and each month I will highlight another swimwear brand and talk about their collection and background.
This first month I’m kicking off with one of my favorite (maybe even my top favorite!) South-American swimwear brands: Ondademar. They released their 2016 collection, called Oasis, back in October of last year and I took a couple of samples with me to Curacao of which you can see the results below.Buy the Mirage triangle bikini here
Ondademar was founded 16 years ago in Medellin as a luxury swimwear brands focused on a women’s and men’s resort lifestyle. The brand is designed for a confident and sophisticated woman for a laid-back beach lifestyle, and really grows with their audience. They also have a kids collection with the same prints as the adults so you can wear the same bikini as your little girl. So cute! With more than 50 selling points worldwide in luxury boutiques and department stores, they also have a couple of flagship stores inspired by summer beach houses. Online the brand is available at Shopbop, Butterflies and bikinis and major retailers like Bloomingdales and Barneys New York.
What I most like about Ondademar? Honestly, it’s the combination of quality, prints and fit. For me, the quality of swimwear is really important and often is a deal-breaker when I’m looking for a new bikini. The fit of the Ondademar bikinis is totally my style (cheeky bottoms and mostly padded tops) and I’m hardly ever disappointed when unpacking my order full of new bikinis! I have to say, the bottoms can be really small tough, so double check the size chart if you want to order online. The only thing that sometimes scares me is the price, haha. But hey, if that means it will make me look gorgeous and feel confident on the beach I’m more than happy to pay that price!Buy the Ziz triangle bikini here
I have to admit that this was the first collection in years that I really love. The previous collections didn’t always meet my expectations and I missed the true Ondademar vibe in the catalogue (maybe it was because of new the models, I don’t know). But the 2016 Oasis collection consists of amazing and beautiful pieces! Keep an eye on my Instagram account because I will show a lot more Ondademar bikinis in the next few weeks.
